Here we go again. Google Pixel owners are running the gauntlet with another monthly Android security update, as users warn phones freeze with no escape route other than a complete reboot. Be sure to understand the risks before you update.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoogle has dropped another Pixel update you might want to skip because of a frustrating bug,\u201d Phone Arena says. \u201cThe company has a growing history of Android updates riddled with various bugs. Staying true to that trend, the March 2026 update may have introduced a fresh issue for Pixel owners.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Android Police warns that \u201cGoogle has a track record of introducing bugs with Pixel updates, especially with big ones, like the Quarterly Feature Drops. Continuing that trend, Pixel owners are now reporting freezing issues with the Always-on Display after the March 2026 update.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pixel issues have been running for some days, and Reddit (1,2) provides a good overview of the bugs affecting its users. Android Authority reports that \u201caffected devices include the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel 9 flagships. However, we\u2019ve also seen a few complaints from people with the Pixel 9a and Pixel 8 Pro.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t all new, of course. We saw persistent issues through the start of the year. Pixel updates are clearly in need of some long-awaited stability.<\/p>\n

A Google moderator commented on these reports almost two weeks ago, writing in a Reddit forum: \u201cHey everyone, Pixel Support Team here. We sent a few of you a chat so we could look into this a bit more. Please check it out and get back to us when you get the chance. Thanks!\u201d No update since then, unfortunately.<\/p>\n

If you are already running the March update with no issues, then you\u2019re almost certainly fine. If you are yet to install the latest update, then be aware of the risks before you do update. You might want to give it a few days to see if there is any official word from Google or, even better, a fix.<\/p>\n
