Reports of Moto Edge 50 Fusion phones dying after updating to Android 16 began appearing in early March 2026. However, the number of reports has grown over time, and now complaints from Edge 50 Pro users have also surfaced, suggesting the entire Motorola Edge 50 series could be affected by the Android 16 update.<\/p>\n

Multiple users report Moto Edge 50 phones dying after the Android 16 update<\/h2>\n

On March 4, 2026, Reddit user u\/Pleasant-Amoeba-7035 posted about a motherboard issue with his Moto Edge 50 Fusion. However, his later comments suggest the problems began appearing after the Android 16 update. The next day, another Reddit user, u\/Familiar_Copy2117, shared that his Edge 50 Fusion was not turning on after updating to Android 16.<\/p>\n

Since then, multiple users on X have reported similar issues. For example, @zerolatency_ says his Moto Edge 50 Fusion died two days after installing a software update.<\/p>\n

@motorolaindia scamming people through software updates???? I’m using a Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. I received a software update, installed it, and two days later the phone died completely it won’t turn on. I’ve tried everything. I took it to their service center, and they said<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, @PankajGoyal3826 shared that his Moto Edge 50 Fusion switched off and has been stuck on the Moto logo since updating to Android 16.<\/p>\n
