In that environment, the challenge for issuers is shifting toward influencing the moment a consumer decides how to pay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Banks and payment networks are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence and transaction data to meet <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> challenge, using the technology to personalize offers, adjust rewards and tailor incentives <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">around<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> individual spending patterns.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Offers Feed Becomes the New Battleground<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Much of the innovation in credit card rewards is happening outside the checkout flow itself.
