Google on Wednesday said it <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>completed a $32 billion agreement to buy Wiz<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>, a leading cloud and AI security platform, marking one of the largest-ever acquisitions in the cybersecurity market.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The deal will allow Google to provide a comprehensive security offering to both government and enterprise customers operating across multicloud environments.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Wiz works across the leading cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The platform will continue to operate under its own brand name, while providing a broad range of services through its integration with Google Cloud.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith the addition of Wiz, we will provide customers with a comprehensive platform to secure their cloud and hybrid environments, as well as accelerate threat prevention, detection and response,\u201d Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>said in a blog post published Wednesday<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kurian said customers and partners would be able to enhance security for their enterprise systems while \u201clowering the cost of maintaining security controls\u201d across multicloud and on-premises environments.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Google provides a portfolio of threat intelligence, cloud-native security operations and incident response through its Mandiant Consulting unit.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Wiz executives also noted the combination will help customers operate more securely at a time when AI adoption is rapidly accelerating and creating additional risks.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
