Pop star Britney Spears was not dating Paul Soliz at her DUI arrest; family and exes call for privacy and support<\/p>\n

Pop star Britney Spears was reportedly not in a relationship with Paul Richard Soliz when she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence last Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spears, known for hits including \u201cToxic\u201d and \u201cCriminal,\u201d is free pending a hearing scheduled for May 4, though her arrest has raised concerns about potential jail time.<\/p>\n

Sources told TMZ that Spears and Soliz, her former housekeeper, split months before the incident and had not been in contact. Insiders claim Spears ended the relationship because she did not feel like a priority.<\/p>\n

Spears\u2019 ex-husband Sam Asghari, who she married in June 2022 after meeting on the set of her 2016 \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video, filed for divorce in August 2023 citing irreconcilable differences.<\/p>\n

Speaking to NewsNation about Spears\u2019 arrest, Asghari said, \u201cI think everybody makes mistakes, and everybody deserves privacy,\u201d while noting the potential impact of media scrutiny on someone recovering from personal difficulties.<\/p>\n

Kevin Federline, Spears\u2019 second husband and father of her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, also addressed the arrest. His lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ, \u201cKevin hopes for the best for Britney and if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it nor those who are attempting to work with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for Spears told PEOPLE magazine that the arrest was \u201can unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,\u201d adding that she intends to comply with the law and receive support for her well-being. The statement confirmed her sons will spend time with her as her family develops a plan to assist her.<\/p>\n
