Hoboken, N.J. <\/strong>\u2013 After earning an NCAA “B” cut at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship, sophomore Delaney Klaus of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swim team officially punched her ticket to the 2026 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, it was announced on Friday.<\/p>\n

“I am super happy and honored to be selected. I can’t wait to represent Stevens at the NCAA level and I hope to be selected next year along with some more of my teammates,” Klaus stated.<\/p>\n

Klaus owns the 20th-fastest time in the country in the 100-yard backstroke and will make her NCAA appearance on Friday, March 20, in Indianapolis. The four-day NCAA Championship will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium.<\/p>\n

The sophomore becomes the first Stevens female swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Championship since Kaitlynn Prescott in 2017\u201318. Klaus originally earned the “B” cut during the 400-medley relay, as the Ducks set a MAC Championship meet record during the event. She officially punched her ticket in the 100-yard backstroke on the final day of competition, winning the event in 55.85, nearly two seconds faster than second place.<\/p>\n

“We’re super excited about Delaney’s selection,” expressed head coach Adam Schneider. “She is relatively new to racing her 100 back, so we’re confident she can go even faster at NCAAs. She’s had a great season so far and this will be a great conclusion for her.”
