In addition to being one of the primary messaging apps for Android, Google Messages also lets businesses communicate with you using RCS. While there’s no denying that business-related spam has been a menace on the app, there may be some businesses that you want to hear from, like a local bakery or your bank.<\/p>\n

In its current form, the layout of RCS-based business profiles in Google Messages differs significantly from a standard user profile. A future update to the messaging app could change this, with the app working on making business profiles look more like personal profiles.<\/p>\n

Looking into a recent Google Messages beta (version 20260220_01_RC00<\/strong>), Android Authority has revealed development on an updated business profile page. Instead of having two separate tabs for Info<\/strong> and Options<\/strong> like in the existing version, all the options are now available on a single scrollable page.<\/p>\n

With this updated design, users should be able to find all the important info about a business in one place rather than switching between tabs for specific details. There’s also the benefit of experiencing consistency across the board, regardless of the type of profile you’re viewing. On the flip side, some may find it hard to distinguish between a personal account and a business profile with this redesigned business profile page.<\/p>\n

This redesign isn’t available just yet and had to be manually activated, so we can’t definitively say when or if it will roll out to the masses.<\/p>\n

Separately, Android Authority has also uncovered a subtle change to personal profiles that adds the Archive\/Unarchive option to the row of options, sitting just above Block & report spam. This option is already available from the overflow menu inside a chat, so it looks like Google simply wants to make it easier to access.<\/p>\n
