Unlike most years, the company will release a second book-style foldable this summer, described as featuring a wider body than the standard Z Fold model.

More recently, early One UI 9 builds (based on Android 17) have revealed the existence of all three foldables, while we’ve also learned of a feature potentially coming to Samsung’s default browser with the software. The three devices are making another appearance, this time highlighting a feature that could potentially save customers from expensive screen repairs.

Looking into a leaked One UI 9 build, Android Authority has found strings that detail how users will be warned about “foreign substances” while folding either foldable.

Phone not fully folded
Your phone didn’t fold completely. Open your phone again, and check if there is any foreign substances on the screen to avoid screen damage. If you don’t need this detection alert, you can turn it off in the Settings.

Samsung will also give users the option to disable “Foreign Material Detection” from the Settings, though we suspect it will be enabled by default.

The recently launched Galaxy Z TriFold has a warning system with onscreen alerts and vibrations when the device is folded incorrectly. This new mechanism revealed in the leaked One UI 9 build differs from that, specifically addressing debris or other small items that may be preventing the foldable from fully closing.

A warning that could avoid accidental damage to the screen

In addition to the strings above, Android Authority also found some images that illustrate the functioning of Foreign Material Detection. One of them provides another look at the “Wide” Galaxy Z Fold, codenamed H8, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Q8) and Z Flip 8 (B8).

These…

Source

Samsung’s next-gen foldables may save you from expensive screen repairs https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-one-ui-9-galaxy-z-fold-flip-8-wide-foreign-object/ Publish Date: 2026-02-24 08:38:00…

https://static0.anpoimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/wm/2025/08/z-fold-7-open.JPG?w=1600&h=900&fit=crop
[46
86
post-216898","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-android","tag-samsung
