The organization is \u201cdedicated to advancing cybersecurity practices by promoting vulnerability disclosure frameworks and security standards that have long been used in traditional IT environments,\u201d according to the AV Trust announcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe AV industry has evolved to embrace more connected architectures, but our security practices haven\u2019t kept pace,\u201d says Schaefer in the announcement. \u201cWe created AV Trust to bring the same security frameworks to AV that have protected IT for decades. Our goal is to make AV systems safer and more consistent for organizations worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Opportunities to Get Involved<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>AV Trust is actively seeking council members from the cybersecurity and AV communities to contribute in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Secretariat Council:<\/strong>\u00a0Focused on coordinating vulnerability disclosure and communication activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standards Council:<\/strong>\u00a0Dedicated to evaluating and creating cybersecurity standards for AV systems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Education &#038; Events Council<\/strong>: Responsible for developing educational resources and managing events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, AV Trust is calling on companies in the AV industry to provide financial support.
