On December 19, 2025, city officials announced they will terminate their contract with the Atlanta-based company and remove the stationary ALPR cameras installed throughout town.<\/p>\n<p>The decision follows an unsolicited email from Flock CEO Garrett Langley that described the company and its law enforcement partners as being under \u201ccoordinated attack\u201d from activist groups that \u201cwant to defund the police, weaken public safety, and normalize lawlessness.\u201d Staunton made it clear that narrative doesn\u2019t reflect its values.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More: Flock Traffic Cameras Track Everything, Except The Cops Misusing Them<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The city acknowledged the Staunton Police Department had reported \u201cnumerous successes\u201d using the technology.
