Apple last redesigned the MacBook Air with the M2 model, and per a supply chain leaker, the new Air almost came in the sort of fun colors that are expected for the forthcoming \u2018MacBook.\u2019<\/p>\n

M2 MacBook Air redesign was tested in vibrant colors, like what\u2019s coming for new \u2018MacBook\u2019<\/h2>\n

There are a variety of new Apple products expected to launch very soon as part of the March 4 special press event.<\/p>\n

Among them is a brand new \u2018MacBook\u2019 with no suffix, reviving the brand years after the previous 12-inch MacBook was discontinued.<\/p>\n

This MacBook is expected to come at a low cost, estimated around $699, and be offered in a variety of \u201cfun colors.\u201d Per Bloomberg:<\/p>\n

Over the past year, Apple has tested options such as light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver and dark gray \u2014 though it\u2019s unlikely all of these will ship.<\/p>\n

Previously, Ming Chi-Kuo reported that the new MacBook may come in blue, pink, silver, and yellow.<\/p>\n

Interestingly though, ahead of the product\u2019s unveiling, Weibo leaker Instant Digital has shared that similar colors were previously tested for a different product: the MacBook Air.<\/p>\n

When they were developing the MacBook Air M2, they also planned to use this refreshing color scheme, but unfortunately it wasn\u2019t released.<\/p>\n

The M2 MacBook Air was the last time the Air line got a hardware redesign. Every model since then has retained the same design. Though Apple did branch out slightly with colors last year with the Sky Blue M4 model.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear whether Apple already had plans several years ago for the low-cost MacBook to arrive. Perhaps so, and that\u2019s why it pivoted the color options for the Air line. But it\u2019s an interesting tidbit nonetheless.<\/p>\n
