With the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple could present a generation in fall 2026 that stands out less for radical technical innovations than for targeted design adjustments. Reports from the Asian supply chain suggest that the Cupertino-based company wants to further refine the exterior design. The focus is on a redesigned back, a smaller Dynamic Island, and new color options.<\/p>\n

Apple is said to be reducing the material contrast that has been visible on the back of the device up to now. While the matte glass surface and camera element are clearly separated from each other on current Pro models, the iPhone 18 Pro could give a more homogeneous impression. The goal is apparently a more uniform finish in which color and texture differences between components are less noticeable. Apple would thus not be reinventing the existing design language, but rather subtly refining it.<\/p>\n

The front could also undergo a visible change. According to reports, the Dynamic Island is set to be noticeably smaller. This would be made possible by partially relocating Face ID components under the display. However, as not all sensors can yet be integrated completely invisibly, the characteristic pill-shaped notch is likely to remain part of the design, albeit in a more compact form.<\/p>\n

In addition, Apple is apparently testing new color variants for the Pro models. Among others, a dark coffee brown, a rich purple, and a deep burgundy red are mentioned. Whether all of these options will actually go into series production is currently unclear. Another rumor that is attracting attention is that a classic black variant may be discontinued. This would be a departure from the conservative color strategy pursued to date, in which black or graphite have regularly been an integral part of the portfolio.<\/p>\n
