Earlier this month I posted benchmarks of the Loongson 3B6000 for this 12-core \/ 24-thread LoongArch Chinese CPU with DDR4 ECC memory. Those initial benchmarks were done with Debian LoongArch64 while since then I’ve shifted over to using Arch Linux on LoongArch.<\/p>\n

With the Loongson 3B6000 supporting UEFI booting, it was a breeze switching from Debian to Arch Linux on this LoongArch test box provided by the Loongson Hobbyists Community. Via their hobbyists community’s OS listing page is a look at the different Linux distributions available for Loongson hardware.<\/p>\n

The Arch Linux build for Loong64 booted up just fine on the Loongson-3B6000x1-7A2000x1-EVB and was off to the races.<\/p>\n

While testing Arch Linux on LoongArch64 it was using the Linux 6.18 kernel, GCC 15.2.1, Btrfs as the default file-system, and other leading-edge packages.
