A number of Android users have noticed that Circle to Search, one of Google\u2019s Gemini-powered features, no longer offers a direct Share option, leaving some questioning how useful the tool now feels in day-to-day use.<\/p>\n

The issue has been widely discussed on Reddit, with reports suggesting that while the feature still allows actions such as creating content or selecting text, the ability to instantly share what has been circled has vanished on certain devices. Android Authority has also confirmed it can reproduce the behaviour on some phones.<\/p>\n

For many people, the removed option disrupts what made Circle to Search appealing in the first place. The feature was designed to streamline quick lookups, and the built-in share button meant users could send an image or result straight to another app without cluttering their photo gallery with extra screenshots. Without that shortcut, sharing now requires additional steps, such as taking a screenshot or copying text before switching apps.<\/p>\n

The change is particularly puzzling because the sharing function is relatively new. It first appeared during development in April 2024 and was rolled out more widely in August 2024, making its apparent removal feel abrupt.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

So far, Google has not offered any official explanation. One user report links the disappearance to a beta version of the Google app, specifically build 17.3.60.sa.arm64. In that instance, the Share option reportedly returned after the Google app was reset to factory defaults.<\/p>\n

Users who are affected and enrolled in the Google app beta may want to consider reverting to the stable version as an initial step. Resetting the Google app has also been cited as a possible fix, although this may not appeal to everyone. For now, the most reliable alternatives involve using the Select text option and sharing from another app, or manually sending a screenshot.<\/p>\n
