The Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU is shaping up to be a serious competitor, even challenging AMD\u2019s Radeon 890M. New performance tests on Linux show that Intel\u2019s latest iGPU, based on the Panther Lake architecture, is delivering very strong results.<\/p>\n

These benchmarks were carried out by Phoronix using an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor. The tests ran on Linux kernel 6.19 with Mesa 26.0 drivers, highlighting the performance of Intel\u2019s new Xe3 architecture, which outperformed its AMD rival in most games and synthetic benchmarks.<\/p>\n

Intel Arc B390 Performance In Linux Benchmarks<\/h2>\n

In games such as Hitman 3, the Intel Arc B390 showed a clear lead, beating the Radeon 890M by more than 64% at 1080p resolution. Other tests, including 3DMark Wild Life Extreme and GravityMark, confirmed Intel\u2019s advantage, especially in OpenGL and Vulkan workloads.<\/p>\n

AMD kept a slight advantage in only a handful of titles, such as Counter-Strike 2 and Quake II RTX. This is likely due to AMD\u2019s more mature drivers for those specific games.<\/p>\n

While Intel leads in raw performance, the Radeon 890M remains very competitive in power efficiency, sometimes matching or even surpassing Intel in performance per watt. Even so, Intel\u2019s progress with Panther Lake is clear and marks a major step forward in an area where the company has traditionally lagged behind AMD.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also worth noting that the launch of Intel\u2019s Panther Lake handheld CPUs has been delayed from the end of Q1 2026 to the second quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n
