Verification and fraud prevention firm <\/span>Sumsub<\/span> debuted its AI Agent Verification tool.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new offering is a way to control artificial intelligence-driven automation by connecting it with \u201creal, verified human identity\u201d within Sumsub\u2019s know your agent (KYA) framework, the company said in a Thursday (Jan. 29) <\/span>news release<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs AI agents and browser-based automation grow in popularity, businesses struggle to tell legitimate activity from fraud,\u201d the release said. \u201cMost platforms treat <\/span>automation<\/span> as inherently suspicious and block it by default. <\/span>In light of this, Sumsub\u2019s AI Agent Verification enables businesses to <\/span>separate<\/span> lawful, human-driven automation <\/span>from<\/span> malicious agent attacks by linking all activity to a verified human identity.<\/span> This<\/span> creates a clear line of accountability, allowing legitimate automation to operate while preventing illicit activity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The tool treats automation as a \u201cmanageable risk\u201d and not an immediate red flag, according to the release. <\/span>The system first determines when activity is automated, <\/span>gauges<\/span> its risk level, and <\/span>only<\/span> applies additional checks when <\/span>needed<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In high-risk scenarios, AI Agent Verification can <\/span>ask for<\/span> a targeted liveness test to <\/span>make sure<\/span> that a real human is present and authorized.<\/span> In doing so, it blocks deepfakes from being used in place of real users and makes sure that every action <\/span>is tied<\/span> to the person responsible, the release said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRather than attempting <\/span>to blindly trust AI agents themselves<\/span>, our solution focuses on verifying the humans behind them,\u201d Sumsub co-founder and Chief Technology Officer <\/span>Vyacheslav Zholudev<\/span> said in the release.<\/span><\/p>\n

KYA technology is <\/span>important<\/span> because agents behave exactly like the patterns <\/span>fraud systems<\/span> are designed<\/span> to mistrust, PYMNTS reported this month.<\/span><\/p>\n
