Three-quarters (74%) now believe AI increases the value of their work, virtually unchanged from last year.<\/p>\n<p>The top AI use cases highlighted by respondents in the report were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Automating and accelerating repetitive tasks, in order to free up time and scale operations<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of code \u201chumans don\u2019t want to touch,\u201d like messy JavaScript, unformatted files\u00a0and large codebases \u2013 helping them unearth vulnerabilities in new areas<\/li>\n<li>As a research assistant that helps them \u201cget unstuck\u201d when presented with unfamiliar technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the organizations that work with ethical hackers, these advances mean they get higher quality findings that \u201cfocus on what actually needs fixing\u201d \u2013 and they get them faster than before.<\/p>\n<p>With AI acting as another team member, hacking teams can be more thorough in their work, without any need to increase budget.<\/p>\n<p>The technology is also empowering hackers to \u201cbuild custom tools tailored to specific targets, analyze obfuscated code at scale, and test edge cases that would have been too tedious to explore manually,\u201d according to the report.
