I write for a living, so most of my day is some form of typing. My notes, half-formed pitches, and to-dos end up in my phone through my thumbs, usually when I’m holding something else or walking somewhere.
For one week, I tried to stop thumb-typing all of that and talk it out with Gemini Live instead.
Gemini Live isn’t a keyboard, so it’s a separate tool from GBoard’s voice typing. It’s the conversation mode in the Gemini app, and you reach it by tapping the Live icon or long-pressing the power button.
You talk, it talks back, and the entire exchange sits in your chat history afterward.
