iPhone 17 Pro Max buried in America’s 250th anniversary time capsule: to be opened in 2276

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, a gigantic time capsule has been buried with numerous items from every state to commemorate our current era – one of them being an iPhone 17 Pro Max in Cosmic Orange. The time capsule is set to be unsealed in 2276 for America’s 500th anniversary.

It remains to be seen if this iPhone will actually function once the 500th anniversary rolls around in 2276. As many have pointed out, the battery is incredibly likely to go bad before then.

Nonetheless, if it does work somehow – the phone includes some ‘digital artifacts’ that people will be able to look through in the Notes app by then.

The iPhone is just under 20 years old, so it’s hard to imagine what technology will look like in another 250 years. For all we know, we could be past physical devices and all in on neural implants, or something that isn’t even conceivable today.
