Tenable Holdings has joined OpenAI’s Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, a collaboration aimed at applying advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to help organizations identify, prioritize and reduce cybersecurity risk more effectively.

The Columbia, Md.-based cybersecurity company said it will work with OpenAI to explore how frontier AI models, including GPT-5.5, can be integrated into Tenable’s exposure management platform to enhance security workflows and accelerate risk mitigation efforts.

The partnership comes as artificial intelligence increasingly reshapes the cybersecurity landscape, enabling both defenders and attackers to operate at greater speed and scale. Security teams are facing growing pressure as the number of potential vulnerabilities expands while the window between exposure and exploitation continues to shrink.

Tenable said the collaboration will focus on advancing cybersecurity research, improving exposure intelligence, identifying exploitable attack paths and helping security teams prioritize the risks most likely to affect business operations.

“The AI era requires a fundamentally new approach to cybersecurity,” said Eric Doerr, chief product officer at Tenable. “Attackers are moving faster and operating at a scale that makes purely reactive security untenable. As part of OpenAI’s Trusted Access for Cyber program, Tenable is evaluating how GPT-5.5 can help accelerate defensive workflows through secure product integrations.”

At the center of the initiative is Tenable One, the company’s exposure management platform, which aggregates and analyzes security data across cloud environments, IT infrastructure and other digital assets. The platform is designed to help organizations distinguish between vulnerabilities that exist and those that present meaningful business risk.

By combining OpenAI’s artificial intelligence capabilities with Tenable’s exposure management technology, the companies aim to…
