Japan’s SoftBank Group said it will launch a cybersecurity
service in the country aimed at helping companies identify
vulnerabilities and strengthen their digital defences, Jiji
Press reports.

The service will use advanced artificial intelligence technology
developed by OpenAI, the US company behind ChatGPT.

The Japanese technology group is seeking to support businesses
as concerns grow over the potential misuse of increasingly
sophisticated AI models, including Claude Mythos, developed by US
start-up Anthropic.

The service will assess weaknesses in corporate security
systems, assist companies in developing guidelines for applying
software patches and recommend methods for implementing
countermeasures.

SoftBank plans initially to offer the service to around 100
companies. The first users will include operators of critical
infrastructure in sectors such as finance and
telecommunications.
