Idaho State University’s College of Technology hosted a tour of their Eames Complex Thursday afternoon for the Pocatello Rotary Club.

Rotary members got an inside look at some of the college’s programs.

That included the diesel and auto tech facilities, as well as the nuclear engineering program, where students utilize simulators to gain experience managing facilities.

Also discussed was the college’s new three-year bachelor’s degree program

The new degree offerings include BAS in Law Enforcement Management and Leadership, BAS in Applied Business and Professional Sales, and BAS in Intelligent and Trustworthy Digital Systems.

The College of Technology says they are the first public three year programs in the state.

“The three year BASs are very specifically designed for specific spots that fit for students to enter into industry quicker,” says Dean Gerald Anhorn. “The first thing people say is, ‘Well, what are you cutting out?’ The stuff that might not be critical to enter into into your field. It allows them to advance further, quicker.”
