Nintendo Music is a pretty weird, but also very cool app.
As you might have guessed, it’s a dedicated Nintendo music streaming platform that offers tracks from Super Mario Bros., Pikmin 4, Wii Sports, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and more. While the app has been available on Android and iOS for some time now, support on other platforms has been limited.
However, Nintendo Music is now coming to Android Auto and CarPlay, allowing you to pump Mario Kart 8 tracks from your vehicle’s speakers on your morning commute to work. Nintendo Music is now also available on desktop via browsers and features a tablet-friendly UI.
This update makes it way easier to listen to Nintendo Music tracks when you’re behind the wheel
It’s great to see Nintendo take its music streaming app seriously
The addition of Android Auto and CarPlay support means that the Nintendo Music app icon will now appear in the launcher for both in-car platforms. Before this update, the only way to play Nintendo Music tunes in your car was via the mobile app over Bluetooth. While this isn’t a massive problem, if you’re a CarPlay or Android Auto user, it can be a bit annoying.
