It’s starting to sound like a Z Fold Wide could be released too, rounding out Samsung’s folding family into a crowd.

But a new model can’t just be slightly thinner, slightly longer-lasting, and in slightly more company, if Samsung wants to win the hearts and minds — and pocket space — of buyers. New features and tools will be even more important.

There’s one feature I have in mind. It’s a tool that debuted on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which some argue is the sort of innovation smartphones really need, but others say isn’t worth the headache.

I am talking about the Privacy Display mode, which stops people around you from seeing what’s on your smartphone’s screen, as a nosy person’s nightmare.
