Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max won’t break cover until September, but the rumor mill is running. Late May 2026 brought a four-color dummy-model leak (Silver, Black, Light Blue, Dark Cherry) plus supply-chain reports that Apple is finalizing OLED panel approvals. The clearest picture yet: the same overall back as the iPhone 17 Pro, a refreshed palette, a smaller Dynamic Island, a 2nm A20 Pro, and a September launch alongside Apple’s first foldable, rumored as the iPhone Ultra.

The dummy models: same shape, new palette
CNC-machined dummies built from Apple’s CAD files are typically accurate to a fraction of a millimeter. The back is consistent with the 17 Pro (same silhouette, 0.36mm taller and 0.39mm wider). The real shift is the camera plateau: per MacRumors, the iPhone 18 Pro Max measures 11.54mm at the plateau, up from 11.23mm, with total lens-bump thickness reaching 13.77mm versus 12.92mm.
The color lineup is the news. Silver carries over, Black is the headline addition, Light Blue replaces Deep Blue, and Dark Cherry, a deep red that drifts toward purple, is the tipped hero. PhoneArena says Apple also tested Coffee Brown, Purple, and Burgundy, and earlier Pantone codes circulated: Dark Cherry (6076), Light Blue (2121), Dark Gray (426C), Silver (427C). The May 29 dummies show Black where PhoneArena had Dark Gray, suggesting Apple shifted to a truer black late. Names aren’t final until September.
