Individuals who downloaded or used an app from Google Play while under the age of 13 at any time between April 1, 2015, and the present, may be eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Google LLC and AdMob Google Inc. have agreed to pay $8.25 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged the companies unlawfully collected, used, and disclosed personal information from children under 13 who used Google Play apps, in violation of privacy rights.
Who can file a claim for a Google Play privacy settlement payout?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They reside in the United States and were younger than 13 years old any time between April 1, 2015 and the present.
- While under the age of 13 they downloaded or used an app from Google Play any time between April 1, 2015 and the present
- Their personal information was allegedly collected, used or disclosed by Google or AdMob
How much are settlement payments?
Pro rata cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund. Final payment amount will be determined by the number of valid claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print the PDF claim form to complete and mail to the settlement administrator.
Class members can register online to receive a class member ID. If the class member is under the age of 18 as of May 2026, a parent or legal guardian must submit and sign the claim on their behalf.
