High in British Columbia’s Valhalla Range, the mountains feel alive. The terrain shifts with every storm, every line carrying its own character far beyond rock and ice. For the first time in Teton Gravity Research’s history, we’ve stepped away from the massive cinema rigs to capture this energy through the lens of the iPhone 17 Pro. This isn’t just about new tech; it’s about a new way of seeing the line.

The Legend and the Phenom

The film brings together two legends: Sammy Carlson and Kai Jones. Sammy has spent his career defining the language of freeride, while Kai has grown up reading every word of it. Despite their history with the TGR crew, this marks the first time they have filmed together at this level. Watching the veteran legend and the young phenom trade energy on the same canvas is iconic.

Directed by Todd Jones and produced by Drew Holt, the project was shot on location at Baldface Valhalla. This project was created in collaboration with Apple, pushing the boundaries of what is possible at Baldface Valhalla. The film is a testament to the fact that the best camera is the one that can keep up with the ride.

The Frequency is Open

The Valhalla Range transmits a specific frequency, and Kai and Sammy came to reverberate that energy back through their skiing. Whether it’s a massive pillow line or a technical spine, the iPhone 17 Pro captures every detail of the BC backcountry.

The frequency is open. It’s time to tune in.
