HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University has selected Mitchell Croatt as the dean of the College of Science and Technology. He is scheduled to assume his new position Aug. 1.
“Dr. Mitch Croatt is an exciting hire for Southeastern. He has the vision, energy and student-centric focus to help position the university for the future,” said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Eric Skipper. “He understands the power of interdisciplinary collaborations to advance use-inspired research and problem solving.”
A Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Croatt currently serves as director of the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creativity Office at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He previously served as the interim dean of the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, reporting to the provosts at both UNCG and North Carolina A&T.

Croatt’s administrative experience includes a seven-year tenure as department head of chemistry and biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at UNCG. He holds the Marie Foscue Rourk Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNCG.
