Serco North America has appointed defense technology executive Andy Henson as chief technology officer as the government services contractor expands its technology and digital solutions capabilities across defense, intelligence, and federal mission programs.
The appointment reflects Serco’s broader push to strengthen operational technology delivery for government customers increasingly prioritizing deployable, scalable systems over standalone innovation initiatives.
Chief Executive Officer Michael LaRouche said Henson’s background in delivering technology solutions in high-pressure operational environments would support the company’s focus on faster execution and mission-aligned outcomes.
Henson joins Serco from SAIC, where he held senior leadership roles overseeing advanced analytics and technology solution programs supporting defense agencies, combatant commands, and intelligence community customers. His work focused heavily on integrating operational needs with scalable technical delivery across national security environments.
Before SAIC, Henson worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and built experience deploying analytics and operational technology platforms for frontline government users.
One of the defining elements of his background is direct operational support during the early stages of the war in Ukraine, where he helped introduce and deploy new technology capabilities in support of U.S. European Command under rapidly evolving battlefield and intelligence conditions.
That type of operational deployment experience has become increasingly valuable across the defense contracting sector as federal agencies prioritize technologies capable of rapid field integration, interoperability, and real-time adaptability in contested environments.
