OPLINEPRIZE International unveils its 18th edition as part of Nuit Blanche at the Richelieu Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne. An awards ceremony focused on digital art and generative AI, to be held in Paris on June 6, 2026.
And what if AI becomes one of the raw materials of contemporary art? The Amphithéâtre Richelieu at the Sorbonne hosts OPLINEPRIZE International #18, an evening dedicated to digital contemporary art and to generative artificial intelligence, for Nuit Blanche 2026, on Saturday, June 6. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the curious can attend this prize ceremony free of charge, carried by OPLINEPRIZE, the first public prize for digital contemporary art created in 2009 by Michèle Robine. It’s an opportunity to see how artists today are embracing AI, generative images, and new visual narratives.
For its 18th edition, OPLINEPRIZE International picks the theme “AI: Generative-Generation”. The event looks at how creation is evolving in the digital era, with generative artworks, exchanges between humans and machines, speculative fictions, and shifting visual forms. The prize also invites public participation: visitors can vote online for the Public Prize from May 1 to May 31, 2026, ahead of the ceremony at the Sorbonne. Three distinctions will be awarded: the Public Prize, the Curators’ Prize, and the New Media Jury Prize, chaired by artist Yann Toma.
At the Sorbonne, Nuit Blanche 2026 also tackles a hot topic: the place of the artificial intelligence in creation. The free event each year opens up opportunities to discover artworks, performances, and conversations across Paris and its metropolitan area, sometimes in venues we don’t typically visit in this way. With OPLINEPRIZE International, this connection here takes on another question: how can artists, audiences, and digital tools work together to create new images?
