Through its combination of a sleek and sturdy metallic design, excellent performance, a good display, and long battery life, the MacBook Air 13 M5 earned an impressive 92% rating in our testing. We were all praises for the single-core performance of the Apple M5 as well as the thin-yet-durable chassis. We also quite liked the completely silent operation, stable performance, and the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7/BT 6.0.
However, the MacBook Air 13 M5 suffers from no maintenance options, limited ports, and a low-res webcam without FaceID. The laptop also disappointed with only a 60 Hz refresh rate, as there are Windows laptops that offer 120 Hz displays in the same price class. The MacBook Air 13 M5’s panel also requires user calibration to look its best. We provide an ICC file for that very purpose in our review.
That said, these are all minor problems that take nothing away from how good the MacBook Air 13 M5 actually is.
