LogGate Pro v1.3 is now available on the App Store as a native Apple Log and Apple Log 2 to Rec.709 conversion app for Mac, iPhone, and iPad, with face-aware smart cropping, multi-aspect-ratio export, and a one-time $19.99 price. The app processes everything locally on Apple Silicon using a chip-aware VideoToolbox and Metal pipeline, supports Apple Log 1, Apple Log 2, ProRes RAW, HLG, and PQ/HDR10 input, and requires no cloud, subscription, or internet connection.
Since the iPhone 15 Pro introduced Apple Log recording back in 2023, demand for fast and clean log-to-Rec.709 conversion has steadily grown, especially now that the iPhone 17 Pro records in Apple Log 2 and even ProRes RAW, with both unlocked through Apple’s Final Cut Camera 2.0 update. LogGate Pro positions itself in that space as a focused, Apple-native utility, sitting alongside conversion options already available inside DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro, and dedicated AI tools like Topaz Video AI Pro and Aiarty Video Enhancer.

Color science and supported inputs
LogGate Pro performs its Rec.709 SDR conversion using a 64³ CIColorCube LUT, Apple’s Core Image-native 3D LUT implementation at high precision (64 x 64 x 64 sample points). Output is properly tagged Rec.709 for universal playback. According to the developer, the same conversion path covers a broader range of inputs than the marketing front page suggests: Apple Log 1 from iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro, Apple Log 2 from iPhone 17 Pro, ProRes RAW in linear encoding, HLG, and PQ/HDR10. The Apple Log version can be auto-detected or forced manually, and the LUT transform itself can be toggled off if a colorist would rather grade from the original log curve.
