Walmart has been selling low-cost Android tablets under the Onn brand for years, and this month the company launched six new models with prices ranging from $97 to $288.

Unsurprisingly, the entry-level model isn’t much to write home about. But at a time when gadgets are generally getting more expensive (thanks to Ramageddon), it’s nice to see any new hardware in this category priced under $100.

The onn 8.1″ Core tablet is a $138 model with an 8.1 inch, 1524 x 1000 pixel IPS LCD display, a 2.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It seems well positioned to take on the Amazon Fire HD 8.

Onn 11″ Core

Meanwhile the Onn 11″ Core tablet appears to be more of a Fire HD 10 competitor,…
