WISCONSIN (WBAY) — Several local communities are grappling with a public safety issue involving Flock cameras.
The automatic license plate readers have been hailed as a groundbreaking tool for law enforcement, able to catch criminals after spotting their vehicle.
But several municipalities including Oshkosh and Appleton have canceled their contracts with Flock due to concerns about privacy and several incidents of misuse of the technology by law enforcement agencies.
Jim Palmer, executive director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, discusses the issue.
