We are approaching that time of the year when two tech giants — Google and Apple — will launch their flagship smartphones. The Google Pixel 11 series and iPhone 18 series will arrive around a month apart from each other. While we have already covered what users can expect from the Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, which are arriving in August, here are details on what could be new in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Reports and leaks suggest the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models could feature noticeable changes, including a cleaner front design, upgraded cameras, a faster chip, and a larger battery. Here is everything leaked so far about the battery, India pricing, camera, display, design, and launch timeline.
Changes in design
Apple refreshed the iPhone Pro lineup design with the iPhone 17 Pro last year. This year, leaks suggest Apple may refresh the display design of the Pro models once again. According to reports, Apple is moving the Face ID sensors underneath the display instead of keeping them visible in the cutout. If Apple launches the iPhone 18 Pro with this change, the large pill-shaped Dynamic Island may disappear. To make the display look cleaner and less distracting, Apple could place the selfie camera inside a much smaller punch-hole cutout near the top-left corner.
Apple is likely to keep the same three-camera system on the back of its upcoming Pro iPhones rather than introducing a major camera layout change. However, the company may still make smaller design improvements. Apple could slightly change the materials, texture, or overall look and feel of the phone’s back panel and metal frame to make it appear more premium or different from previous models.
Apple is also reportedly testing new colour options for the Pro models, including deep purple, burgundy, and coffee brown.
