The first students signing their apprenticeships include Pike County High’s Hughes Oakes and Charles Henderson High School’s Gauge Potter, John Mark Challancin and Henry Grenon.
Troy-Pike Center for Technology’s partnership with HnR Plumbing provides these students opportunities to use their apprenticeship licenses in real-world settings in the community. Through on-the-job training, the students work alongside industry professionals to gain practical experience that strengthens their skills and confidence in the trade.
”This program gives students a tremendous advantage by allowing them to graduate high school with college credentials, industry experience, and a clear pathway into a high-demand career,” Troy-Pike Center for Technology Director Dr. Jamie Rich said. “Our partnership with Enterprise State Community College and HnR Plumbing provides students with authentic, hands-on learning opportunities that prepare them for success immediately after graduation. These students are building skills that will benefit them, their families and our local workforce for years to come.”
