West Virginia dentist in court on 39 invasion of privacy counts over hidden camera

BROOKE COUNTY, W.Va. — A West Virginia dentist accused of secretly recording employees in a workplace restroom returned to a Brooke County courtroom Friday, as the case against him moves closer to trial.
Dr. Jeremy Crowe is facing 39 counts of invasion of privacy after employees allegedly discovered a hidden camera inside a water bottle in an employee restroom in 2024.
Several developments were made during Friday’s hearing, including action on multiple pretrial motions.

“Various pretrial motions were filed both on behalf of the state as well as the defendant,” Brooke County Prosecutor Allison Cowden said. “The magistrate made various ruling on almost all of those motions. We’re still set for trial on May 26th. That’s a jury trial here in Brooke County. The magistrate did indicate she’d like to have one more pre-trial hearing before that.”
Multiple motions in the case were denied.
The trial remains scheduled for May 26 in Brooke County.
