Palantir Technologies has signed a $300 million Blanket Purchase Agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to support the National Farm Security Action Plan and modernize how the agency delivers services to American farmers. The agreement advances two priorities: strengthening farm security as a national security imperative and accelerating program delivery across USDA’s Farm Production and Conservation mission areas.
Through the partnership, Palantir will provide operational software enabling the USDA to secure American farmland, enhance supply chain resilience, and protect agricultural programs from fraud, abuse, and foreign adversary influence. The agreement gives the USDA critical visibility into risks that can affect the country’s agricultural production and food supply, at a time when farmers are facing rising supply costs driven by trade tensions and geopolitical disruption.
The contract also supports USDA’s One Farmer, One File initiative, which aims to reduce the administrative burden farmers face when accessing government services by delivering digital-first tools they can use from home, reducing time-to-payment, and accelerating post-disaster recovery. Central to this effort is the Landmark platform, already in operation at USDA and backed by Palantir. Landmark was used in February to roll out the $11 billion Farmer Bridge Assistance Program, which broke all prior USDA records for online farmer sign-ups within 62 minutes of opening, allowed farmers to enroll without visiting a county office, and delivered over $4.4 billion directly to farmers in the program’s first five days.
Landmark is also enabling the USDA to transform how farmers report acreage through self-service digital tools, giving them the option to handle administrative tasks online rather than in person, freeing up time during critical working hours.
