Snowmass suspends gosnowmass.com after cybersecurity incident

The town of Snowmass Village has temporarily suspended its official tourism website, gosnowmass.com, following a cybersecurity incident.

“The issue was discovered by the town’s third-party website developer, Black Dog Digital, which detected unauthorized malicious files on the site,” a press release states. “As a precautionary measure, the town immediately disabled the website to prevent further impact and to protect users.”

Before the shutdown, visitors to gosnowmass.com reported “unusual activity,” according to the release, including repeated “Are you a bot?” prompts and instructions to enter verification codes.

“These issues were also associated with slower site performance and a degraded user experience,” the release states. “Black Dog Digital is actively working to investigate and remediate the issue.”

Updates will be provided as they become available and the site is restored.

“The town of Snowmass Village appreciates the public’s patience and vigilance as this matter is addressed,” the release reads.
