Every year new products arrive, we get treated to a new selection of colour options. That applies to most devices, from smartphones to smart rings and while there are some that simply offer black, white, and a hero colour, others have a selection to choose from.

What is PRODUCT(RED) and will it come back?

That colour is PRODUCT(RED). In case it’s not obvious, it’s a bright red colour and it has been a colour option for a number of Apple products since 2006 when the company partnered with the (RED) brand, which was co-founded by U2 singer Bono. The partnership was created to raise money for The Global Fund, which aims to help tackle diseases like HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Africa.

As reported by Macrumors however, the last PRODUCT(RED) device to be offered by Apple – the silicone case for the iPhone 14 – is no longer available anymore having sold out last month. With no new PRODUCT(RED) devices having launched recently, it seems this marks the end of an era.

Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean Apple has stopped supporting The Global Fund – the Macrumors report says the annual Apple Pay donation program raised $3 million in 2025 but if you’re looking for a bright red iPhone or Apple Watch, you’ll be out of luck now.
