Close a few apps, restart the phone, and things feel normal again. But if your Android phone constantly lags or takes time to respond, the problem is most likely the lack of storage space.
For Android phones and tablets, there’s a simple storage rule that Google rarely spells out loud: performance starts to suffer when free storage drops below about 10 percent. Once you cross that threshold, things can fall off fast. Google actually mentions this on its support page, but it’s not something that’s highlighted in the storage menu itself.
